I love going to shows.
sometimes you discover a new band that makes you feel new or makes you think about things or makes you let go with abandon.....whatever it is an emotional response has been created and then every time you hear that song or that band you remember.....
on saturday I went to the diableros cd release party. lipstick machine opened and they played one of their best shows ever! grassy knoll and the magic bullit from london were there to take in the show and it reminded me of how much I enjoyed their show at the cameron house a few months back. if you live in london and you hear about a grassy knoll show, GO! they are a lot of fun live and noel, the frontman, is very witty and very much has the right rock star attitude. it's not often that the frontman heckles the two stoners sitting in the back booth of the bar!

Sweet Soul Music
today was a day that reminded me how much I enjoy soul....
they had a copy of the best of booker t and the mgs at my favourite used cd store and then today on sex and the city they played try a little tenderness....oh otis....what a shame that you're gone....
~sigh~
I need to listen to more of that....

About Live It Out
as a whole, in terms of building an atmosphere and creating a feeling, the album is mediocre.
some individual tracks are quite strong on their own...i.e. handshakes, glass ceiling, the police and the private.
but old world underground, where are you now? seriously.

Sometimes There's Disappointment...
after hearing about how great the new metric disc was I decided to buy it...even though I wasn't that crazy about it after listening to it in the store.
I'm still hoping it's gonna grow on me.

Beautiful Music
I've recently been told that it would be a wonderful idea if I started a blog. I don't feel I have anything that earth shattering to say but people seem interested in knowing what I'm listening to so here it is.
this one is simple: the new broken social scene.
get it. it's fantastic. or as someone I know put it, "beautiful"
for a review check out www.pitchfork.com
